"They, who are not afraid of change; not afraid of adversity. They, who face the music--because to dance to it is better than to never have heard it at all." -8th House Entity
The Scarab, the underestimated 8th House Entity. Symbolistic of transformation, restoration, resurrection, growth and the cycle of life and death and day and night.
Scarab beetles (also known as dung beetles) were sacred in ancient Egypt, their dung-rolling linked with the nocturnal activity of Khepri, the god of the rising sun. Khepri was said to roll the sun through the underworld at night, pushing it over the horizon in the morning. In nature, these creatures are known to be destructive to plant life and some varieties of this species are known to extract the nutrients from the waste of livestock for sustenance. You could say they "got it out the mud" lmao. But think about it, from destruction comes creation and new beginnings and with the mentality of creating something from nothing or "waste," it makes sense how the great Egyptian minds could see the value in this beautiful creature.
